4/13/12 Celebrations!

Twi and Jason had spent the night so we could spend the day celebrating Twi's birthday. Jason got to feed Josiah a bottle for his breakfast because I had just finished pumping when Josiah was ready to eat again. It ended up being quite a nice thing for both of them.
Twi played with Josiah several times and held him twice. Once in the early morning after he had eaten and was alert, happy and mostly done spitting up. The other time I was cooking lunch. Mom was helping me. Bryan had run to the store for an ingredient I was missing. Jason was taking a nap. Josiah had started crying while in the swing. She knew that I read to him last night until he fell asleep, so she picked him up out of the swing, sat him on her knee bouncing him and read the Lorax by Dr. Suess. I was amazed. Dad was with her on the couch, but was only helping by holding the book and turning pages. She didn't ask him for any more help than that. She even continued when Josiah kept fussing until my mom came and took him from her about 15 minutes later!
It was a great birthday celebration. We played Phase 10 between talking and eating. Twi was thrilled with the laptop gift. Josiah behaved really well and we all enjoyed the day.
We got to go to the hospital to meet Jess after dinner. We took the Reeces the left-over food, some chocolate covered strawberries, and some drinks. Jess is really cute. He's a redhead! He has huge hands. He has the chubbiest cheeks and a double chin. :) He's about the same length and head size as Josiah just more slender which a I am sure he will round out like Josiah did in just a couple weeks. It was great to see them. Laura did a stellar job with labor, birthing that 9lb 13oz big boy. She said I can't keep calling Jess "Josiah's little friend". He's certainly not little. His baby coos were so sweet and he has such a little cry. He loved to suck on his hands and wiggled them out of his swaddle every chance he got. Sometimes he would grab his face. When he did one hand practically covered his whole face. Praise God he's here and he and Laura are both safe and well, warn out, but well!
