Strange Happenings

I started having shooting nerve pain/sensations down the back of my legs today. I asked a coworker who usually works labor and delivery about it and she confirmed my thought that they are not labor pains. It is the feeling of the baby's head moving down deeper into my pelvis starting to push on nerves. I am also feeling fairly wobbly. Every day is a mystery and learning experience.

  1. Is it the sciatic nerve pain? I had similar pains until recently but I've been warned it returns in mid-to-late third. If it is, the pelvic rocks and sleeping on your side with the leg that gets the pains (for me it's usually the right)elevated and crossed across your body help take some of the pressure off.

  2. It probably is the little boy's head putting pressure on my nerves as he moves down. I wondered why a baby dropping was called lightening. I thought of it then as feeling lighter. It definitely feels heavier. Now I wonder if it means lightning like electric show in the sky.
